How we use AI
Last reviewed: October 2026
We use AI to work faster and more thoroughly. We do not use it to replace judgement. Every piece of client work is reviewed and signed off by a named person at Bluewater.
What AI helps us with
- Research and discovery. Scanning bond listings, prospectuses, public registers and market news so we see relevant deals early.
- Drafting. First drafts of documents, summaries and correspondence, which our team then reviews and edits.
- Checking. Cross-referencing documents against our own legal and regulatory positions to find gaps and inconsistencies.
- Administration. Scheduling, document chasing and keeping records up to date.
What AI never does
- Sign off documents, approve transactions or act as trustee or agent.
- Make decisions on client matters.
- Give investment views or recommendations.
- Contact you without making clear it is an AI.
Human sign-off
Every output that reaches a client, counterparty or investor is reviewed by a member of our team. Accountability for our work sits with people, not software. Henry Porter, Managing Director, is responsible for how AI is used across Bluewater.
Your data
- We use AI services under commercial terms that prohibit our providers from training their models on your data.
- Confidential client information is processed only in tools we have approved for that purpose.
- We handle personal data in line with UK GDPR and our Privacy Policy.
- If you would prefer we did not use AI on your matter, tell us and we will agree an approach with you.
Our AI assistant
Natasha is our AI operations assistant. She handles scheduling and administration and always identifies herself as AI. Her profile is on The Firm page, after the team.
